KONA SIDE

Lava Lounge, located on the upper level of our oceanfront Pahui‘a restaurant, offers a bird’s eye view of the ocean with great opportunities to witness the elusive “green flash.” Signature martinis and refreshing coolers, an extensive appetizer menu, and live entertainment. Piano Wednesday through Sunday evenings by Ron Creager; solo guitarist Charles Brotman on Monday and Tuesday from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. followed by Karl Kasberg from 8:30 - 11 p.m. The Ka`upulehu Cultural Center located below the lobby is open Sunday through Friday.

KING KAMEHAMEHA KONA BEACH HOTEL

Daily tours of Kamakahonu’s restored temples and heiau ruins at 1:30 p.m., except Sundays. Island Breeze Lu`au on the beach in front of the Ahuena Heiau each Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday night beginning at 5 p.m.

Wednesdays and Fridays, 5 p.m., the award-winning Aha‘aina Lu‘au features traditional Hawaiian food, music, chant and hula. Reservations required.

HAPUNA BEACH PRINCE HOTEL

Legends of the Pacific dance show and buffet dinner Tuesday and Friday nights at 6 - 9 p.m. Jazz music Tuesday – Saturday in the Malolo Lounge from 9 p.m. - 12 a.m. featuring singer Azure McCall and Joe Tarantino, pianist. Nightly music in the Boat Landing Pavilion from 8 - 10 p.m. Museum Walkway features $7 million of Pacific Rim art. Take a free mahogany canal boat or Swiss-made tram ride through the grounds. Watch the dolphin shows and encounters at the Dolphin Quest Learning Lagoon. Paniolo Cookout BBQ every Saturday 6 - 9 p.m. at the Lagoon Grill. Signature Brunch Series every Sunday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Gallery – Hilton Waikoloa Village. Live music during artist receptions. Artist in Residence Aelbert Aeghema land, sea and volcano scapes. A hawaiian trio with Lim family members plays live music in the atrium from 5:30 - 8:15 p.m. each night, accompanied by a hula dancer.

Torch lighting ceremony at sunset. Live Hawaiian entertainment and hula dancer nightly at Brown’s Beach House, 6 - 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays, Island Breeze Lu‘au–The Gathering of the Kings. Reservations required.

WAIKOLOA BEACH MARRIOTT

Cultural enrichment tours – learn to dance hula, make leis, weave baskets and view historical sites, some which go back to 1400 A.D., call for times and days. Each Wednesday and Sunday the Royal Lu`au overlooks the ancient fishponds of `Anaeho`malu Bay. Doors and the bar open at 5 p.m., lu`au and Polynesian Show begin at 6 p.m. Reservations necessary. On the first Wednesday of every month, an educational briefing takes place at the site. This resort is a good place to see working fish ponds, petroglyphs and Hawaiian artifacts.

Contemporary Hawaiian music in the Waioli Lounge on Fridays with Kool Breeze, and Saturdays with the Brown Family.

NANILOA HOTEL

The Crown Show Room has concerts featuring top name local artists. Call for dates. This hotel is undergoing renovations and currently has no regular entertainment.

UNCLE BILLY’S HILO BAY HOTEL
