On behalf of the people of the County of Hawai`i it is a great pleasure to welcome visitors to the Island of Hawai`i.
As anyone who lives on our beautiful island knows, we are stewards of a very special natural
environment whose pristine wonders we want to always preserve.
The many ecosystems present on our Island, ranging from desert to sub-alpine, make this a fascinating place to visit.
Our continuously erupting Kilauea volcano is one of the great natural phenomena that no visitor should miss.
